A follow-up to my previous post:
I don't normally run Basilisk II on OS X. So I installed Basilisk II onto a Mac Mini running OS X Leopard.. A 2009 build for 10.4 & 10.5 from Emaculation.
Additional tip: you can actually change the modifier keys on the mouse on Mac (under 'Razer Basilisk Ultimate Dongle' in the drop-down menu) to swap around the Option and Command keys. This allows you to map 'Alt-W' to a button and have it executed as 'Cmd-W' on Mac. I dont see the Synapse 3 software for MAC OS officially, so there wont be customization options. Synapse 2 is only there for the MAC OS, though it does not have the new Razer peripherals on it. But without that, you will be able to connect the USB port cable directly on the MAC or dock (for using via bluetooth) on the MAC machines. This is the highest version of MacOS that Basilisk II can run. Mac OS 8.1 Booting up. The MacOS 8.1 about screen. One of the more obvious improvements introduced in. SheepShaver is the best option if you want to run Mac OS 8 or Mac OS 9. Basilisk II, the software I’m going to be demonstrating, fits snugly in the middle. It still emulates a 68K-based Mac, but emulates a modular model that was capable of displaying color, offered more power and could run later versions of the Macintosh hardware. What is All Macintosh Roms (68K + PPC)? This is an archive containing all of the most popular Macintosh models ROM files for emulation purposes, ranging from the first 64K ROM from the Mac 128K to the 4MB ROM files from the Bandai Pippin or PowerMac G3, listed below in ROM size, then by release date from oldest to newest.
I found that the Option key worked OK if editing a text document, but it fails to work at all, if for example, I want to close several open windows at once (Option-click any window's close box). It does nothing at all. Particity mac os.
I don't know why it won't work. Key Caps shows it as pressing the Option Key, so I'm at a loss here.

But it did remind me of why I run Basilisk II (build 142) on Windows - That build is most like a real 68k Mac - everything just works
[Edit]: Perhaps the following has some bearing:
Source: columbia.edu:
'versions uploaded late in 2009 used a version of Basilisk II that did not recognize the Option key in all contexts, and that version has now been replaced with an older version that recognizes the Option key correctly.'
'versions uploaded late in 2009 used a version of Basilisk II that did not recognize the Option key in all contexts, and that version has now been replaced with an older version that recognizes the Option key correctly.'
So perhaps I need to try an earlier version of BII that will run on Leopard..

Basilika Mac Os Catalina
[Edit 2]: Good grief. It was the version of BII on OS X that I was using!
I DL'd the .dmg from the Columbia Edu linked page, above. With this one, the Option Key works correctly.
Basilisk Mac Os
BTW, the Columbia Edu DL contains Basilisk II plus Performa 630 ROM and a 400 MB disk image file with a pre-installed Mac OS 7.5.5, ready to go. The disk image contains mostly pre-installed versions of Word Perfect (various) and a few utilities. Quite an interesting DL, actually.
